"The Battle of the Atlantic will consist of five best-of-three matches. Each match will be a head-to-head between the North American and European team of equal rank, with the winner scoring points for their region. The region with the most points at the conclusion of the tournament will be declared victor of the first ever invitational and gives their region bragging rights going into the 2014 season." - Riot(Rich 'Riot Arjee' Greenhill )

Mandatorycloud(Mid Lane) - Touted as one of the best mid laners in NA region, Mancloud deserves the hype around him. Mancloud played has a great champion pool, that was evident in LCS Summer Season,as he picked 12 different champions, with Zed being the most picked (3Wins/4 Picks) , while his Ryze has 100% win rate(Picked 3 times). But still, his performance during Season 3 World Championship was lackluster, despite being able to put up a great fight during the laning phase against some of top midlaner's, mancloud and his team lacked the international exposure and experience, some bad team decision and plays became exit door for him and his teammates.
EU region have always produced some of the best midlaner's , Mancloud will be facing Alex Ich(My Fav Mid Laner), last time these two went head on head Alex Ich dominated both the times, lets assume that it was good learning experience for mancloud, lets hope he has improved to the international standard and gives us great show at the Battle of the Atlantic.
- Set 1 Mancloud [LvL 15 Orianna 0/4/0[8595G - 14020G]4/0/1 Twisted Fate LvL 18] Alex Ich
- Set 2 Mancloud [LvL 18 Zed 5/6/3[12874G - 17102G]14/3/7 Ahri LvL 18] Alex Ich
GMB
Darien(Top Lane) - I know most people will say Diamond or Alex, and ask Why Darien? i say why not, he is the most under-rated Top laner, this guy feeds to win, he will never ward, he will pick champion what he wishes to play, he becomes beast if he is ignored early, Darien likes to pick tanks like Renekton or Shen, his aatrox can make or break games, this guy is unstoppable if he gets going. Darien gives his best when his team requires the most, since Super week of LCS Summer Season, Darien has literally carried Gambit throughout their run till S3 Worlds. Darien has picked Shen 7 Times in last LCS Summer Season and won 5/7(71.4%),his renekton has 100% win rate which was picked 2 times and he picked Zac 4 times, winning 3/4 (75%) . Darien is one those players, he will either perform and give his best or just have worst game, his carelessness has been taken advantage many times in LCS.
Darien might be facing Benny or Nickwu in top lane at the Battle of the Atlantic, lets hope he gives as great show with his another renekton escape move or Blaze it!
My Take On Both Teams -
Both GMB and XD.GG are skilled teams, both have their pluses and their minuses, with Edward returning to Gambit , the roster of GMB has possibility to go Season 2 beast mode(or it might just be me), since GMB was inconsistent throughout the LCS Summer Season, i hope gambit get back to their old state. Shutting down mancloud in mid will not only slow his pace , it will also give Alex Ich the start he always looks for, Diamond will play a huge role in giving Alex Ich a comfortable laning phase. One of the best things about Gambit is the way they co-ordinate their team fights, despite having gold disadvantage Gambit have made great comebacks, but at same time , they have also thrown few of the games, first that comes to my mind was LCS summer season game against EG(that was so bad), but still you can't give them any room to breath.
with 4 Subs XD.GG can pull out some unseen tricks on summoner's rift, this could the right time for them to start Season 4 on high note.XD.GG as Team Vulcun have lost many games due to their poor decision making , the last time they faced gambit, they did throw the game really bad at the baron. XD.GG is a very skilled team, i can only hope that they have improved from past and grown much stronger, you cant deny that they are one of the top teams in NA , but playing against team like GMB is different story, lets hope they deliver their best.
Verdict
Who, i expect to win - Considering previous head to head record, experience and skills i can say that Gambit Gaming will win the set, but i expect XD.GG to put on a great fight , i will place my bet on
GMB 2 -1 XD.GG , however both are great teams and good in their own terms , anything can happen.
Who, i wish to win - Gambit 2-0, GMB is my favourite team , i have cheered for them since Season 2...SEE HERO! KILL HERO!
Thank you all..
